Started playing guitar Christmas morning of 2001. My first guitar was a mini version of an acoustic guitar that came with a book and a video. The book and the video didnt help because I was looking to learn fast and I didn't want to sit and learn the actual music so I turned to tabs which I am now kicking myself for. I am in the process of getting lessons so we can transcibe out music on to sheet music not just in tabs. And I hope the lessons help me improve my understanding of why im playing what im playing. I also help I can learn how to do some little tricks and to improve my solo capabilities. My style of playing started to begin when I started listening heavily into Gregg Tribetts style and his ability to change timings. Mudvayne has a style I love playing in and a challenging style. Another guitar player that obviously influences every guitar player is Kirk Hammet, obviously one of the best guitar players of all time. Another band that has influenced my all around look at music is the Deftones, the band has a good grasp on all aspects of soft to heavy styles which had an immediate grasp on my guitar playing. The Deftones also incorperated a soft Piano playing into some of the songs which I thought was great.
